Roulette Wheel
Make your own roulette wheel: enter names or choices, spin, and a winner is picked fairly with your browser's secure random generator. Give items weights and colors, remove each winner for a lottery draw, spin several times at once, and keep a history of recent results.
What is the Roulette Wheel?
The Roulette Wheel is a random picker that looks like a spinning prize wheel. Type a list of names, prizes, restaurants or tasks, press Spin, and the wheel slows down and stops on the winner. Use it to choose who goes first, draw lots for a raffle, pick lunch, or decide anything you cannot decide yourself.
How to use
- Edit the items in the list: type a name in each row, or click Add item to add a row. Up to 100 items, 50 characters each.
- Optionally change an item's Weight (0 to 1000) to make it more or less likely, and its color with the color swatch.
- To paste many items at once, open Edit as text, write one item per line and click Apply. Add
*3at the end of a line to give that item a weight of 3. - Press Spin. The winner is shown in large text under the wheel.
- Check Remove the winner to draw lots: each winner leaves the wheel until you press Put all back.
- Set Spins to draw several results in a row; they are listed in order.
Is it fair?
Yes. The winner is chosen before the wheel starts to move, with crypto.getRandomValues, the cryptographically secure random number generator built into your browser. The tool draws a whole number below the total of all weights using rejection sampling, so there is no modulo bias, and each item wins with a probability of exactly its weight divided by the total. The animation is then calculated to stop on that item; how fast you click or how long it spins does not change the result.

The size of each slice on the wheel matches its chance of winning.
FAQ
Is my list saved?
Yes. The items, options and the last 20 results are saved in this browser, so the wheel is ready the next time you open it. Nothing is sent to a server unless you share the tool.
How do I draw lots without repeats?
Check Remove the winner. Every spin removes the winner from the wheel, so nobody is picked twice. Put all back returns all items to the wheel.
Can I make one item more likely to win?
Yes. Increase its Weight. An item with weight 2 is twice as likely to win as an item with weight 1, and its slice is twice as wide. Weight 0 keeps the item in the list but takes it off the wheel.
The animation makes me dizzy. Can I turn it off?
If your device is set to reduce motion, the wheel jumps straight to the result without spinning.
