What is Special Characters & Symbols?
A symbol picker (特殊文字・記号の一覧) for characters that are hard to type on a keyboard. Pick a group, click a symbol and it is copied to the clipboard, ready to paste into a document, message, spreadsheet or code. Each symbol shows its official Unicode name and code point, so you can also use it to check which character you are copying.
How to use
- Choose a group such as Arrows, Math or Japanese symbols, or type in the search box.
- Hover over or focus a symbol to see its name, code point (U+XXXX) and HTML entity.
- Click a symbol to copy it. It is added to Recent at the top.
- To copy several symbols at once, switch Click to to Add to text. Each click appends the symbol to the text box, and Copy copies the whole string.

FAQ
What are 機種依存文字 (platform-dependent characters)?
Characters such as ①, Ⅻ, ㈱ and ㍻ were once missing from some Japanese encodings and showed up as garbage on other computers. They are all standard Unicode characters today and display on current systems, but some old systems or Shift_JIS-only forms may still reject them.
Why does a symbol show as a box or look different?
Symbols are drawn with your device's fonts. If no installed font has the character, it appears as a box (tofu). Some symbols, such as ⭐ or ✔, may also be drawn as colorful emoji.
How do I type an invisible character such as a zero-width space?
Open Spaces & invisible and click the label (for example ZWSP). The invisible character itself is copied. You can check the result with the Unicode Character Inspector.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. Search and copying run in your browser. Your recently copied symbols and the text box are saved in this browser with the tool.
