FAQ

My sign is different in another horoscope. Why?

The Sun moves into the next sign at a slightly different date and time each year, so the boundaries can shift by about a day. This tool uses the commonly published fixed dates above, so if your birthday is on a boundary day (a "cusp"), other sources may give the neighboring sign.

Is this the Chinese zodiac?

No. This is the Western zodiac based on the month and day. The Chinese zodiac (rat, ox, tiger and so on) is based on the year; the Japanese Era tool shows it as 干支.

Why do the symbols look different on my device?

♈ to ♓ are standard Unicode characters. Depending on your font and operating system they are shown either as plain text symbols or as colored emoji.
