About this tool

What does Year Progress show?

It shows how far through the current year you are, for example "2026 is 75.3% complete." Below the progress bar it shows how many full days and full weeks of the year have passed. There is nothing to set up: open the tool and it shows the progress for today.

How it is calculated

  • Percentage: the time elapsed since January 1 at 00:00 divided by the length of the year, including the current time of day. It is rounded down to one decimal place, so it never shows 100% before the new year.
  • Days: full days completed since January 1, out of 365 (or 366 in a leap year).
  • Weeks: full weeks completed since January 1, out of 53 (52 weeks plus 1 or 2 extra days).

Everything uses your device's local time zone, so the year starts at midnight where you are.

Features

  • Percentage to one decimal place and a progress bar

FAQ

Why does it not reach 100% on December 31?

On December 31 the last day is still in progress, so 364 of 365 days have passed. The year is complete only at midnight on January 1, when the next year starts at 0%.

Does it work for leap years?

Yes. In a leap year the total is 366 days and February 29 is included in the calculation.

Can I choose a different year or a fiscal year?

No. It always shows the current calendar year (January 1 to December 31) in your local time.
