Open a ZIP file to list its contents, then add files or folders, create folders, rename or move entries, delete items and download the updated archive. You can also build a new ZIP from scratch. Everything happens in your browser, and Japanese Shift_JIS file names from Windows are decoded correctly.
ZIP is the most common archive format: one file that holds many files and folders, usually compressed. Normally changing one file inside a ZIP means extracting everything, editing and compressing it again. The ZIP Editor lets you change the contents directly: open an archive, add, rename or delete entries, and download the result. Files are processed locally and are not uploaded.
Each entry shows its path, original size, compressed size and the compression ratio. Folders are listed with their contents directly underneath, and the header shows the archive name and the number of files.
No. The editor changes the archive and downloads the whole ZIP. To get individual files, download the archive and extract it with your operating system.
No. Encrypted archives cannot be opened, and the tool cannot add a password.
Yes. After any change the whole archive is rebuilt with standard DEFLATE compression and UTF-8 file names. If you open a ZIP of up to 50 MB and download it without changes, the original file is returned as-is.
Archives larger than 50 MB can still be edited, but they are not kept in the browser and are lost when you reload. Very large archives are limited by your device's memory.
