Volume Calculator
Convert volume between liters, milliliters, cubic meters, US and UK gallons, quarts, pints, fluid ounces, tablespoons, teaspoons and barrels in one list. US liquid, US dry and UK (imperial) measures are kept separate, so a US pint and a UK pint never get mixed up.
What does the Volume Calculator do?
It converts a volume into 31 units at once. Besides metric units (mL, dL, L, kL, cm³, m³, km³) and cubic inches, it covers three customary systems that share names but not sizes: US fluid (liquid) measures, US dry measures and UK imperial measures. Each row is labeled with its system so you always know which gallon or ounce you are looking at.
How to use
- Type a value in the row you know, for example 2 in Liter. Every other row updates (≈ 0.528344 US gal, 67.628 US fl oz, ...).
- Set rounding digits to the number of decimals you need. Kitchen measures usually need 1 or 2.
- Enable Description to see how each unit is defined, Ratio to compare each unit with the top row, and Separators for thousands separators.
- Drag rows by the handle to put the units you use most at the top. The first row is the (base unit).
- Use the Up / Down arrow keys in a row to change the value by 1 of that unit.

US dry measures are larger than US fluid ones of the same name: 1 US dry gallon = 268.8025 in³ ≈ 4.40488 L, and 1 bushel = 8 dry gallons ≈ 35.2391 L. The peck and dry barrel (7,056 in³) are also included.

FAQ
Why are there several gallons, pints and ounces?
The US and the UK define them differently, and the US also has separate dry measures for grain and produce. A UK gallon is about 1.20095 US gallons.
Is a "cup" supported?
There is no cup row. Use 8 US fl oz (≈ 236.6 mL) for a US customary cup, or convert from milliliters for a 250 mL metric cup.
Can I convert milliliters to grams?
No. That depends on the density of the ingredient, so it is not a pure unit conversion. The tool only converts between volume units.
